COMPOSITIONS :
Each ml contains :
Bupivacaine HCl 5,277 mg
(equivalent with Bupivacaine 5 mg)
and Dextrose monohyrate 80 mg

INDICATIONS :

Spinal anaesthetic for surgery.

Urology and lower limb surgery in 2 - 3 hours.

Abdominal surgery in 45 - 60 minutes.

DOSAGE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATIONS :
Adult :
Spinal anaesthetic for surgery : 10, 15, 20 mg.
The spread of anaesthesia injection solution is
dependent of several factors, the most
important being volume of solution introduced
and the position of the patient.

When injected in the L3 - L4 interspace with
the patient in the sitting position, 3 ml of
Bucain Spinal? Injection spreads to the
T7 - T10 segments. If the patients are in
the supine horizontal position, the blockade
spreads to T4 - T7.

The effects of injection exceeding 4 ml have
not yet been studied and such volumes can
therefore not be recommended. The solution
should be used immediately after opening the
ampoules and any remaining solution should
be discarded.
