How to Sell Indonesia Handicrafts in Egypt?

Handicraft Indonesia is still a favorite commodity for Egyptian entrepreneurs, especially those in tourist areas such as Hurghada and Sharm El Sheik. But the global economic crisis impact on decreasing the number of tourists to the Egyptian foreign countries causes a decrease in demand for Indonesian handicraft product exports to Egypt.
Based on research of commercial attache in Cairo with the shopkeepers in Hurghada, the shopkeepers who sell handicraft products from Indonesia, the company imported handicraft products from Indonesia, an average of 2 containers in a single year in 2009, but was only 1 container.
50% demand consists of interior products such as decorative mirrors, table lamps, chandeliers, wooden shelves, while the other 50% demand are consist of handicraft products, such as trinkets handbag, key chains, etc..
Goods imported from Indonesia cultivated sold out within 2 years, before they return to Indonesia to find and buy handicraft products are new, usually to Bali and Yogyakarta. Prior to the global crisis that led to sluggish sales of handicrafts, approximately 70% of products sold come from Indonesia. Currently there is a change in Hurghada for the crisis. They are difficult to sell handicrafts so they had to switch to another product such as a furniture supplier for the new hotel was built in Hurghada.

Every souvenir / handicraft shop in Hurghada has its own uniqueness, there is a shop which specialize selling interioir items such as chandeliers, wooden shelves, mirrors, chairs, screen divider, wooden chairs, decorative wall. In addition there are that sell souvenirs / handicrafts from Africa such as the wooden sculptures in the form of animals such as elephants, giraffes, cats, etc..
