A hundred years of commercial palm in Indonesia.

Commercial oil palm age will reach 100 years in 2011. Since late 2010, the Association of Oil Palm (Gapki) held a series of celebration \'Lively 100 Years of Commercial Oil Palm in Indonesia\'. This was launched at Hotel Borobudur, Friday (22/10/10).

Various activities will be held within 100 days, both in Jakarta and in the number of points in North Sumatra, including gala dinners, seminars, golf tournaments, competitions and photo exhibitions, walks, making a compilation book of CSR to football and volleyball tournaments to the employees estate . Gala dinner will be held at the JW Marriott hotel in Medan, 29 October while the conference and exhibition will be held at the Tiara Convention Center in Medan, 28-30 October. Approaching the age of 100, the commercial area of oil palm in Indonesia has reached 8 million hectares with total production of palm oil in 2010 is estimated to reach 22 million tons.

Indonesia alone, according to Chief Gapki Joefly Bahroeny, already recognized as the largest palm oil producer in the world with export value of about 16 million tons per year.

Currently, according to records Gapki North Sumatra, CPO prices have penetrated 1,000 U.S. dollars per ton and is expected to be relatively stable month ahead. According Joefly, palm oil productivity challenges still to be solved in the future. \"Productivity is 3.2 tons / hectare / year. Predicted 4 tonnes / ha / year by the government.
